These Minnesota Dogs Need a Christmas Miracle
If you're looking for a fur companion to snuggle up with this holiday season, these incredible Southeast Minnesota dogs would be eternally grateful. There's literally nothing better in the world than the unconditional love of a dog.
I feel it would be irresponsible of me not mention that dogs are not just Christmas gifts for temporary joy, they are a 10-15 year commitment.
Please consider adopting. There are SO many beautiful fur-kids "patiently" waiting for their fur-ever family.

Mary - SIX MONTHS. That's how long this picture perfect baby has been waiting at Paws and Claws for someone to take her home and love her. She's believed to be about 7 years old. She was found alone at Oxbow Park. Known for her sweet nature, she thrives on attention and would do best in a home that can provide it. With slightly diminished vision and an exaggerated gait when excited, she manages well overall, though she can be a bit clumsy.
Pepper - Meet the handsome young boy who has been at Paws and Claws for almost 2 months. He has one of the most amazing coats I've ever seen. He is a sweetheart and loves meeting new people and kids! He may need some extra support with introductions and socialization, being a puppy, a bit of training can go a long way in helping him become his best self.
Finnegan - This absolutely gorgeous pup was abandoned and brought to Animal Control. Finn is the sweetest little puppy with lots of energy. He absolutely loves the outdoors, would thrive with a fenced-in yard or an active family member to take him on long walks or runs. He loves ice in his water, tug-a-war, and will swim but doesn't much like baths.
Dak - Another sweetheart found wondering the streets of Rochester by himself. He gets super excited to see other dogs on his walks, so he likely would enjoy having a doggie playmate in his forever home. He could use a bit more leash training, but overall, he's an awesome young dog, around 2 years old, waiting for you at Animal Control.
King - This happy young boy (around 4 years old) was found as a stray and brought to Animal Control. The shelter staff says he knows some basic commands and likes to have fun. Just look at that face. He can't wait to snuggle and attack you with kisses!
Lacey - Miss Lacey was brought to Animal Control when her owner was no longer able to care for her. She's just 11 months young and eager to learn and explore. The staff doesn't know much about her past, and she can get scared in new situations, especially around men. But once she feels comfortable, she loves to play and enjoys being outside with her favorite toys!
Lucky - Sweet, beautiful Lucky was surrendered because his owner couldn't care for him. He's a two-year-old, free-spirited husky who loves the outdoors. A fenced yard would suit him best, as he dislikes kennels and requires plenty of exercise. While huskies can be willful, he believes there's someone out there who understands his breed, seeks a handsome companion, and has room in their heart and home for him.
Suri - Oh, sweet girl. Miss Suri was found abandoned and in tough shape, she's now at Rochester Animal Control, recovering well. Hungry for food and love, the staff provided both, and now she's ready to embark on a new chapter. You'll fall in love with her infectious smile. This friendly girl walks nicely on a leash and is eager to be your best friend!
Zeus - Zeus, once known as Linguine from the 2017 pasta puppy litter, now faces a challenging return to the shelter through no fault of his own. A new home is all he needs to turn things around. Zeus already possesses everything needed to be a fantastic companion, eagerly waiting to bring joy to someone's life.
Coco - This adorable girl is a 4-year-old Boxer. She spent most her life in a breeder home, so she is ready for the snuggles and other dog friends to hang out with. Despite her shyness, her sweetness is bound to melt your heart.
Bandit. A sweet young boy - only 9 months old. Poor hunny has allergies, but the shelter says the meds have been making him feel better. Despite those sniffling challenges, this dear soul is yearning for a forever home, where love can heal what medicine cannot. He's ready for his fur-ever home!
Doing blogs like this always hurts my heart. Seeing all these adorable and sad faces. I wish I could take them all home and smother them with love. I have 4 dogs right now, and if it were up to my kiddo, we'd have about a million. Someday, I'm going to buy a huge chunk of land and adopt all the dogs.
Head to the Paws and Claws website for more info and to apply for adoption. These are just a few of the many dogs they have available for adoption. They also have a ton of cats as well.
