Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The old saying, “no crying over spilled milk,” may not apply when it actually involves 43,000 pounds of the dairy product.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department responded Wednesday to a crash east of Rochester involving a semi-truck transporting milk. Sheriff’s Captain Scott Behrns says 42-year-old Kevin Johnson of Winona was driving the rig in the 2600 block of Chester Road Southeast on the west edge of Chesterwoods Park when the rear passenger side wheels on the tanker trailer went off the pavement onto the narrow and steep gravel shoulder. Behrns says that caused the load in the tank to shift and the truck ended up on its side in the west ditch.

Johnson was transported by Mayo Clinic ambulance to be checked out for minor injuries. Behrns says it’s not known how much of the milk spilled in the crash but he suspects the entire load will have to be discarded.
