The news release says members of the Cannon Falls Fire Department found a body during a water search in the Cannon River around 2:20 Saturday afternoon.
He was located in about five feet of water on the southside of the river, down a hill from his residence, authorities say.
The Medical Examiner will make a positive identification, the news release says.
Cannon Falls police had previously stated Dobson left work on December 2 and his vehicle was found at his home.
Foot tracks show he left the house on a wooded trail toward the Cannon River on the eastern edge of Cannon Falls with his dog as a normal routine.
During the search, police found foot tracks on the ice at the river's edge. Dobson's dog was located at a neighbor's house and was wet.
Multiple local and state agencies spent the majority of the week searching for Dobson. The massive search effort included the use of aerial and water drones and the State Patrol helicopter.
