
Search Conducted in Mississippi River for Missing Winona Woman
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News) - A large-scale search operation was conducted Saturday in the Mississippi River in Winona as part of the investigation into a missing person case.
Missing Since Mid-March
The Winona County Sheriff's Office says 72-year-old Patricia Sweningson was last seen in downtown Winona in mid-March. She is described as being approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds.
Sonar and K9 Teams Used in Search
A news release says the search operation focused on a section of the Mississippi River from the Winona Levee south to Lock and Dam 6. It included the use of sonar equipment, underwater drones, and K-9 teams.
Following the search operation, which took place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, the Sheriff's Office reported that nothing of significance was located.
Multi-Agency Effort
The Winona County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the search effort by 10 other law enforcement, fire, and other emergency response agencies.

The Winona Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen the missing woman or has information about her whereabouts to contact authorities at 507-457-6492.
