Olmsted County Jail Detainee Accused of Threatening Officer
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A detainee at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center is accused of threatening to shoot a detention deputy.
The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office filed a felony threats charge against 45-year-old Devon Sackett on Tuesday. Prosecutors say Sackett threatened the deputy multiple times.
The criminal complaint says Sackett was being uncooperative while being booked into the jail on November 18. He then began yelling threats at detention deputies from a booking cell before turning his attention on the detention deputy described as the victim in court documents.
Sackett allegedly told the deputy he would tie her up with a belt and shoot her in her groin area once he got out of prison. He also said he would show up at her house and shoot her between the eyes with a silver bullet and make her kids watch, the criminal complaint says.
The detention deputy then encountered Sackett in the housing unit where he again threatened her, according to the complaint. Jail records indicate Sackett was being booked for an active arrest warrant.
Court records indicate Sackett has been convicted in Dodge County of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, terroristic threats and obstructing the legal process. His next court appearance is December 1.
