Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Fire Department responded to a residential fire this morning.

Officials say it was reported just before 8:30 AM at 1320 42nd Street Northwest.

The first firefighters to arrive at the scene found smoke showing from the upper level of the home. The fire department says the residents had already safely evacuated and were at a neighbors home.

Officials say the fire was quickly located and extinguished. It originated in the kitchen and the damage was limited to the kitchen area. No injuries were reported.

Officials did not list the exact ignition source of the fire.
