Rochester Apartment Fire Displaces Four People
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Red Cross is assisting two adults and two children following a fire Friday afternoon at a four-plex in Rochester.
The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. at 1852 37th Street Northwest. Fire Department Captain Holly Mulholland says the fire started in the kitchen and when fire crews arrived at the scene they found smoke coming from a ground floor apartment in the building.
The flames were quickly extinguished and everyone got out of the residence safely.
Captain Mulholland says there was smoke, fire, and water damage in the apartment where the fire originated and smoke damage in a shared hallway. Overall, the loss was estimated at $50,000.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
