Rochester City Council Approves New Heating/Cooling System

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester City Council has approved a plan to proceed with design work for a new heating and cooling system for City Hall.
The building has been served by Olmsted County’s steam supply system, which will be phased out in 2023.
The new system would also provide service to the city’s other downtown buildings (public library, Art Center, and Mayo Civic Center). They also receive steam from the county system.

The estimated cost of the project is $15.6-million and it will have extra capacity for future public and private buildings.
The new facility is expected to be located on city-owned property east of the Government Center.
