Rochester Man Admits Role in Apartment Complex Gunfight
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man today entered a guilty plea for his role in a shooting at a Rochester apartment complex in 2023.
The criminal complaint filed against 22-year-old Ethan Raymond Callier alleged that he served as the getaway driver in the shooting, which occurred at the Ashland Place Apartments in the 1950 block of Ashland Drive Northwest on May 19, 2023. Rochester police reported that Callier was driving an SUV that matched the description of the vehicle seen driving away from the apartment parking lot immediately after the shooting.

The charges alleged Callier drove three passengers to the apartment complex with the intent to confront his sister's fiancé and retrieve some house and car keys. The court document says one of the passengers told investigators that Callier asked him to come with because he thought the situation would be hostile.
That passenger, 25-year-old Michael King Junior of St. Paul, is accused of exchanging gunfire with the fiancé before getting back into Callier's vehicle and leaving the property. A witness reported hearing approximately six gunshots during the brief confrontation. No injuries were reported.
Callier today entered a guilty plea to a charge of second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon. He is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
King is charged with drive-by shooting toward a person and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Court records indicate his case is pending.
The sister's fiancé, 28-year-old Joshua Adams, earlier entered into a plea agreement and admitted to a charge of second-degree assault. The Rochester man was released on $15,000 bail, but was a "no show" for his sentencing hearing last summer and is now wanted on an active arrest warrant.
