Rochester Police Help FBI Nab Federal Agent in Child Porn Case
“The allegations in this case represent a gross violation of both the law and the responsibilities entrusted to those who wear a badge.”
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department was involved in an investigation that has led to child pornography charges against a federal law enforcement officer with the Department of Homeland Security.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota says 51-year-old Timothy Ryan Gregg is accused of coercing and enticing a child to “take part in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing child pornography.” According to court documents, the victim’s father discovered multiple sexually explicit images and videos on the child’s cell phone.
Federal prosecutors say the images and videos depicted the child and an older individual engaging in sexual activity. Court records indicate that investigators later identified the adult in the child sexual abuse materials as Gregg. The criminal complaint states that the Eagan man is a Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations and a Task Force Officer with the FBI.
“The allegations in this case represent a gross violation of both the law and the responsibilities entrusted to those who wear a badge,” said Special Agent in Charge Alvin M. Winston Sr. of FBI Minneapolis. “There is no place in law enforcement — or in any position of public trust — for those who exploit minors. The FBI remains steadfast in our commitment to investigate such acts and ensure that no one is above the law, regardless of their rank or role.”
Gregg appeared before a magistrate at the federal courthouse in Minneapolis today. He is charged with the production of child pornography.
In addition to the Rochester Police Department, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says the FBI was also involved in the investigation and the apprehension of Gregg.
