Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police revived a Twin Cities man from an apparent drug overdose Tuesday evening.

Police Captain Casey Moilanen said officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of 6th Ave. in Southeast Rochester on the report of an unconscious man. Officers responded to the residence shortly before 9:15 p.m.

Moilanen said the apparent overdose victim, described as a 34-year-old man from Chanhassen, was staying at the residence and was found unconscious but breathing on the floor by the residents of the home. Responding officers administered Narcan and the man regained consciousness.

The man was taken by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to a hospital for further medical care. Moilanen said it appears the man overdosed on heroin but also said investigators have not yet confirmed the substance that caused the apparent drug overdose. 

The man’s name has not been released.
