Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester Public Transit will resume almost all of their regular routes at 7:15 a.m.

According to a press release from RPT, all local Rochester Public Transit route, except for Route 191, will begin regular scheduled service beginning at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25. Route 191 will begin scheduled service at 9:15 a.m.

Due to persistent hazardous road conditions, it was announced at approximately 5:00 a.m. that RPT would only be serving Park & Ride locations to begin service on Monday. Since that time, staffing levels and road conditions improved to allow the expansion to normal service by mid-morning.

A messy weekend and whiteout conditions have caused many area highways to be closed nearly all day Sunday and to start Monday morning.

According to Rochester Public Transit’s Facebook Page, RPT was limited to Park and Ride Service Monday morning because of the persistent poor road conditions.

Many area schools have closed to the poor road conditions and MnDOT has issued a no travel advisory for many roads and highways throughout Southeast Minnesota. MnDOT crews are out to work and clear roadways for area residents.
