In late May, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office identified 44-year-old Daniel Christopher Hill as the man suspected of threatening a woman with a gun while the two were in a stolen pick-up truck in the 6700 block of 54th Street Southeast in Marion Township.
The woman told deputies Hill then attempted to run her over when she fled from the vehicle. The pick-up was reported stolen out of Chatfield.

On the afternoon of May 31, deputies attempted to arrest Hill at the south Walmart store in Rochester but he fled, driving the stolen pick-up off the road and onto bike paths during the fleeing incident.
The truck became stuck in the 1600 block of 50th Ave Southeast, according to the sheriff’s office’s report. Authorities apprehended Hill after he became stuck.
Hill was subsequently charged with second-degree assault, felony threats, motor vehicle theft, felony receiving stolen property and two gross misdemeanor domestic assault counts in the Marion Rd. case.
He was charged with felony fleeing, felony theft and third-degree property damage for his attempt to escape law enforcement.
Court records indicate Hill was convicted of motor vehicle theft, one of the domestic assault counts, felony fleeing and receiving stolen property charges. All other charges in the two cases were dismissed.
Hill was sentenced to 25 months in prison for the fleeing case and 29 months in prison for the Marion Rd. case. As part of a plea agreement to settled the cases, Hill is being allowed to serve the prison sentences concurrently.
