Update: Guman and Driver Charged in Rochester Shooting & Police Chase 

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester police have released the names of two of the people arrested following a shooting at a local bar and restaurant.

Officers responded to the gunfire at Roosters Barn and Grill, located at 2280 Superior Dr. NW around 10:45 Sunday night.

Two females were wounded in the parking lot shooting.

Police said they were taken to the emergency department by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names have not been released. 

About four hours after the shooting, officers encountered the suspect’s vehicle in northeast Rochester. Police said the driver fled an attempted traffic stop.

A police chase began and was ended when officers successfully executed a PIT maneuver in the area of 55th St. and Fairway Dr. NW.

All three occupants in the vehicle were taken into custody without further incident, police said. 

Suspects Arrested in Shooting at Northwest Rochester Rooster's Parking Lot Identified

On Tuesday, Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson identified two of the people arrested as 27-year-old Luke Giwa and 22-year-old Cabdulqaadir Ciise

The third person detained after the police pursuit was released. 

Grayson said Giwa was the suspected shooter. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate the Rochester man was jailed on suspicion of second-degree assault.

In 2021, Giwa was convicted of threats of violence for serving as a getaway driver in a shooting at the KFC in southeast Rochester in November of 2019.

Court records also indicate Giwa was discharged from probation for a conviction in a 2023 drug case that involved a fentanyl pill bust. 

Ciise, also of Rochester, was booked into the Olmsted County Jail on suspicion of felony fleeing, according to jail records.
