Minnetonka Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl on Rochester Trail

27-year-old Ochan Omot Ochogi of Minnetonka is charged with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Rochester police first took the report of the sexual assault on October 2.

In two separate interviews, the victim, described in the complaint as a teen girl, told investigators Ochogi sexually assaulted her on the morning of September 27 on the trail that runs underneath the 4th St. SE bridge that crosses Bear Creek.

The court document says she was with her friend, another female and Ochogi on the night before the sexual assault and into the morning of the sex assault.

The group had started to separate and the victim’s friend told her to get away from Ochogi but Ochogi followed and eventually led the victim under the bridge, the complaint says.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).

She told investigators that she informed Ochogi she was 15 years old and that she tried multiple times to get him to stop his sexual advances but he refused, the court document alleges.

The complaint says camera footage reviewed by investigators showed Ochogi and the victim in the same group of people.

Ochogi is being charged by summons. He’s due to make his first court appearance in May.
