
Speeding Driver Collides With Vehicle, Kills Girl & 4 Women in Minneapolis
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Minneapolis are investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in five deaths and an arrest Friday night.

A news release from the Minneapolis Police Department says a state trooper stationed on I-35W north at 46th St. saw a speeding vehicle shortly after 10:10 p.m. The trooper saw the vehicle get off the freeway before a traffic stop could be attempted.
Police say the suspect vehicle then ran a red light at the bottom of the exit ramp at the intersection of Lake St. and 2nd Ave. and crashed into another vehicle occupied by four adult females and one juvenile female. The man driving the suspect vehicle fled the scene.
Firefighters, medical personnel and other law enforcement responded to the crash scene where the four women and one girl were pronounced dead. Police found and took the driver into custody.
He was first evaluated at Hennepin County Medical Center. The names of the crash victims and suspect have not been released. Police say the fatal crash investigation is ongoing.
