Fire Forces Evacuation of Apartment Building in Stewartville
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News)- A fire prompted the evacuation of an apartment building in Stewartville over the weekend.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin says first responders were dispatched to the fire around 10:00 Sunday morning.
Responding deputies found smoke coming from the building’s roof and several occupants outside of the building, Parkin said.
State Fire Marshal Investigating Cause of Stewartville, MN Apartment Fire
The fire broke out in the 200 block of 6th St. Southeast. Deputies and members of Stewartville Fire and Rescue worked to ensure all residents were out of the building, according to Parkin.
Firefighters then extinguished the blaze, which was contained to a single apartment unit, Parkin said. No injuries were reported.
Parkin says the State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
The Red Cross was also dispatched to the scene to check on impacted residents. An estimate of the damage inflicted by the fire is not yet known, the sheriff’s office says.
