Teen Killed in Rural Minnesota Crash
St. Augusta, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash in central Minnesota claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy Saturday night.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash with injuries about 5 miles south of St. Cloud in the 2100 block of 23rd Ave. in St. Augusta. The crash report came in shortly after 10:30 p.m.
Officials say a passing motorist reported the crash and that other motorists removed the teen from the vehicle and began administering CPR. Responding deputies also administered life-saving measures but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
He’s identified as Charlie Boike, 17, of St. Augusta. The preliminary crash investigation indicates his vehicle left what was described as a slippery road and rolled when it entered the ditch.
Authorities say the 17-year-old was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the deadly crash. Mayo Clinic ambulance also responded to the fatal wreck.
