
15 Year Old Girl Killed in South-Central Minnesota Collision
Lake Crystal, MN (KROC-AM News) - A teenager has been identified as the victim of a fatal traffic crash that occurred near Mankato on Sunday.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office says deputies and other emergency responders were sent to a rural intersection north of Lake Crystal after a pickup and a car collided. A news release says an initial investigation determined that the pickup was traveling north on Blue Earth County Road 20 and collided with the car as it was heading east on County Road 11.
Victim Pronounced Dead at Scene
A passenger in the car, 15-year-old Claire Alyssa Jeske of rural Hanska, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, 17-year-old Braydon Kral of rural New Ulm, was transported to the hospital with what were described as serious injuries.
The Sheriff's Office identified the driver of the pickup as 40-year-old Nathan Manderfield of Lake Crystal. He and a 32-year-old male passenger did not require transport.
Stop Sign
The news release says the intersection is controlled by a stop sign for east- and westbound traffic on County Road 11.
The deadly crash remains under investigation.
