Trials Scheduled Next Week For Two Rochester Murder Suspects

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two of the people charged in connection with the murder of a Rochester man are currently scheduled to stand trial next week.

28-year-old Malcolm Woods and 21-year-old Darian Klindworth-Woods appeared at pre-trial hearings this morning in Olmsted County Court. Both are due back in court Monday for the start of their trials on charges stemming from the shooting death of 38-year-old Brandon Arndt.

The Rochester man was shot to death after he answered a knock on the door of his residence at Bob’s Trailer Park in southeast Rochester in the early morning hours of September 10, 2018. Olmsted County prosecutors allege the three people charged with his death mistakenly believed he was responsible for a medical emergency suffered by their grandmother, who lived in a neighboring mobile home.

Malcolm Woods, who faces first and second-degree murder charges, is accused of being the person who actually shot the victim. Klindworth-Woods faces two counts of second-degree murder and is accused of driving the accused shooter and another cousin to and from the crime scene. The third defendant, 35-year-old Kielah Parson, is also charged with second-degree murder and is currently scheduled for trial in early February.

Meanwhile, there has been another delay in the case of a Rochester man accused of killing two of his neighbors in a downtown Rochester apartment building in March of 2018. 55-year-old Glenn Johnson was also scheduled to stand trial next week, but his case has been postponed until March. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the stabbing deaths of Phillip Hicks and Erick Flemming at the Rochester Salvation Army’s Castleview Apartments.
