
Authorities Capture Suspect Who Vanished After Rural Minnesota Shooting
Truman, MN (KROC-AM News)- The suspected gunman who disappeared after a rural southern Minnesota shooting has been captured.

Deputies began hunting for the suspect on the night of February 27.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies learned of the shooting after responding to a domestic assault report in Truman, which has a population of just under 1,100 people.
Upon arrival law enforcement located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her chest. She was brought to a hospital and an update on her condition remains unavailable.
Investigators identified the shooter as 32-year-old Kyle Jonathan Liford and said he fled the scene of the shooting before law enforcement arrived. Deputies recovered a pistol at the scene suspected of being used in the shooting, a previous news release said.

Authorities Capture Gunman Accused of Wounding Woman in Rural Southern Minnesota Shooting
On Sunday night the Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported that Liford was taken into custody without incident. Details regarding his capture have not been released.
Martin County Jail records indicate he was booked into jail around 8:40 Sunday night on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault, two counts of dangerous weapons and failure to render aid to a victim.
Liford is also charged in a felony threats case. Last week’s shooting occurred after Liford was released without bail in the threats case, according to Martin County Court records.
Liford’s first hearing in the shooting case has not yet been scheduled. He’s due to appear in court for the threats case Monday morning.
