Two Women Killed in Northern Minnesota Traffic Wrecks
Brainerd, MN (KROC AM News) - Two women were killed in separate traffic wrecks in northern Minnesota Wednesday.
One of the victims was killed in northeastern Minnesota after her vehicle collided with a garbage truck.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a minivan driven by 32-year-old Erica Wright of Coleraine drifted into the other lane and collided with the oncoming truck. The other driver was not hurt. The deadly wreck happened around 11:00 am in the town of Calumet.
The other crash happened in north-central Minnesota and claimed the life of the woman who was driving and injured a young child.
The State Patrol reports 41-year-old Cindy Meyer of Pierz drove off the road for some reason and rolled into a ditch. She was not wearing a seatbelt. An 8-year-old boy in the SUV was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The wreck happened in Morrison County around 6:00 pm.
