Annual Olmsted County Rabies Clinic Scheduled for Wednesday
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Olmsted County veterinarians and the Olmsted County Public Health Services Department will hold their annual rabies vaccination clinic Wednesday.
Dogs, cats, and ferrets will be vaccinated for $20 each.
This is an opportunity for pet owners to help protect their pet(s), family, and community from the risk of rabies. The Minnesota Board of Animal Health reports that the majority of rabies cases occur in wild animals like skunks, bats, foxes, and raccoons. Wild animals may often be a source of rabies exposure for domestic pets and livestock. The domestic pets and livestock most often reported rabid are cats, dogs and cattle.
This is the 58th year the clinic has been offered in Olmsted County.
