Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- An arrest warrant has been issued for the defendant in a Rochester drug case involving fentanyl and methamphetamine

Authorities issued the warrant after he failed to appear in court for a Dec. 17 hearing. 

It’s the second time in the case that an arrest warrant has been issued after the Rochester man no-showed a court appearance, according to the case file.

Man Charged in Rochester Meth and Fentanyl Drug Sales Case Fails to Appear in Court

32-year-old Matthew Jonathan Marquette is charged with two counts of second-degree drug sales, one count of second-degree drug possession and one count of third-degree drug possession. 

The criminal complaint says members of the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at his residence in late January of this year.

While inside of the home law enforcement saw several surveillance cameras and a monitoring station set up in the bedroom Marquette was in.

Law enforcement then learned Marquette was flushing suspected drugs down the toilet while deputies approached the residence, the court document says.

As a result of the raid, deputies seized the M30 pills, 14.3 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and 7.7 grams of a substance that tested positive for fentanyl that was spread throughout multiple baggies, the charges say. 

Law enforcement also found evidence of drug sales inside of the residence, the complaint says. Case records indicate Marquette was released without bail following his first court appearance.

Law enforcement served an arrest warrant after his failure to appear and his bail was set at $100,000 without conditions in April. Marquette posted non-cash bond in October.

Court records indicate Marquette has a criminal history that dates back to 2012 and includes felony convictions for domestic assault, malicious punishment of a child, theft, fleeing and drug possession.
