Blizzard Warning Expanded to Include Rochester (UPDATE)
A blizzard warning issued earlier for areas just to the west of Rochester has now been expanded into southeastern Minnesota.
The warning, which runs through 3 a.m., now includes Olmsted, Fillmore, Dodge and Mower Counties.
Only one to three inches of snow is predicted, but winds up to 50 miles per hour are expected to create whiteout conditions into tonight. Motorists - especially those on I-90 - are being advised of possible difficult driving conditions.
The Rochester area will also experience a brief warm-up. For the first time since Tuesday night, the temperature at the Rochester airport finally rose above zero this morning. But it will drop below zero again tonight and may remain there until Saturday.
