Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Dodge County jury has acquitted a West Concord man of a felony assault charge for stabbing another man last summer.

24-year-old Blaine Jennings was originally charged with first and second degree assault, but the first degree count was dismissed shortly before the start of his trial and he was found not guilty of the second-degree charge.

Jennings was arrested on June 23rd after a West Concord police officer was called to investigate a report of a stabbing and found a 41-year-old man at the community’s swimming pool with stab wounds on his abdomen and one of his legs. Minutes later, Jennings approached the officer and admitted stabbing the other man, claiming it was self-defense.

The stabbing actually occurred at Jennings nearby apartment, where he and the other man had been drinking and got into an altercation.
