A rental home in Southeast Rochester was hit by a fire Monday morning.

The Rochester Fire Department responded around 11 a.m. to a two-story house adjacent to the Oak Terrace Mobile Home Park and extinguished a blaze that caused significant fire and smoke damage throughout the residence. A smoke detector alerted the occupants of the home to the fire and everyone got out safely.

A preliminary estimate put the damage at about $75,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
