
Tributes Pour in As Southeast Minnesota Community Mourns Passing of Fire Chief
Goodview, MN (KROC-AM News)- A southeast Minnesota community and first responders across the state are mourning the loss of a fire chief.

The Goodview Fire and Rescue Department announced on its Facebook page Thursday page that Chief Jason Gruett had passed away.
Multiple first responder agencies across southeast Minnesota posted tributes to the chief upon hearing of his passing.

The St. Charles Fire Department paid their respects on Hwy. 14 as Chief Gruett was being taken back home.
Other agencies from across the area also took to social media to express their condolences, many changing their Facebook profile pictures.
Goodview, MN Fire Chief Passes Away at the Age of 51
Goodview Fire and Rescue, which is a volunteer fire department made up of 35 members, posted Chief Gruett was escorted from Rochester to a funeral home in Goodview on Thursday afternoon.
The department invited members of the public to line one of the city’s streets to show support for the fire chief.
Gruett was 51 years old, according to a partial obituary. He died on Wednesday and a cause of death is not available.
A funeral service and visitation is planned to occur next week in Goodview.
The Goodview Fire and Rescue Department is asking the community to respect the privacy of Chief Gruett’s family at this time. Officials plan to release more information at a later date.
