Grand Meadow,  MN (KROC-AM News) - A Grand Meadow man, who originally faced a dozen child pornography charges along with felony drug and weapon offenses, has been sentenced for one felony conviction and several gross misdemeanors.

46-year-old Nicholas Adam Sneed entered into a plea agreement back in May of last year and admitted to a couple of gross misdemeanor counts of interfering with privacy, two gross misdemeanor counts involving the illegal possession of firearms, and a felony drug possession charge. The child pornography charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal.

According to the criminal complaints against Sneed, the Mower County Sheriff's Office obtained a search warrant after receiving a cyber tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The information involved suspected child sexual abuse material uploaded to an email address that was associated with Sneed.

The court document says investigators found methamphetamine, marijuana, and prescription medications during the execution of the search warrant. They also discovered a rifle and a .45 caliber handgun at the residence.

The criminal complaint also states that investigators discovered three mini SD storage cards in a safe in the home's garage. The safe also contained the cell phones and other devices. The charges say an examination of the SD cards later led to the filing of the child pornography charges.

It was alleged that the SD cards held videos of several juveniles recorded by a hidden camera inside a bathroom at the residence where Sneed had been staying. The court document indicates investigators spoke with the three victims and they indicated they were unaware of the presence of the camera.

Sneed went before a Mower County Judge this week and was given a stayed one year prison sentence and was placed on supervised probation for five years.
