Becker, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man who was driving a stolen vehicle when he caused a fatal traffic crash earlier this year today entered into a plea agreement that calls for him to spend more than a dozen years in prison.

The deadly crash occurred July 6 in central Minnesota after a law enforcement officer spotted a pickup that had been reported stolen in St. Cloud. The ensuing pursuit reached speeds of around 100 mph and ended in a multi-vehicle crash in Becker that left the driver of one of the other vehicles with fatal injuries.

According to the criminal complaint against 21-year-old Bradley Alfred Allen Johnson, witnesses reported seeing the stolen pickup go airborne as it crossed some railroad tracks before it sideswiped one vehicle, smashed into the side of another vehicle, and then skidded into a nearby convenience store. The court document says Johnson spoke with officers after the crash and told them that he had used heroin earlier that day.

Johnson was charged with three felony counts of fleeing police, including one that involves the death of a person, three counts of felony criminal vehicular operation, a gross misdemeanor count of the same crime, and a felony charge of receiving stolen property. Under the terms of his plea agreement, the Montrose man has admitted to fleeing police resulting in death and the receiving stolen property charge.
