Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A pair of crash on a slick Rochester freeway sent two people to the hospital Thursday morning.

Two vehicles were involved in the first crash, which happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. The State Patrol says the second crash, which occurred about a half hour later, also involved two vehicles. 

The combination of a light snowfall and sub-zero temperatures overnight caused slippery conditions on the highway, according to both state crash report indicates.

First responders were dispatched to the crashes at the Hwy. 52/Civic Center Dr. Northwest interchange.

Crash on Slick Hwy. 52 in Rochester, MN Sends Teen to Hospital

A car and SUV that were both traveling south on Hwy. 52 collided at the busy interchange, the state crash report for the 6:30 a.m. crash says.

18-year-old Sabrina Rose Mccombs was riding in the SUV. The young Rochester woman was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.

54-year-old Nina Mccombs of Rochester was identified as the SUV driver and the State Patrol identified the car driver as 22-year-old Maggie May Mccullough of Rochester. Both drivers escaped the crash without injuries. 

Rochester, MN Man Becomes Second Person Injured in Less Than 1 Hour at Slick Hwy. 52 Interchange

Around 7 a.m., An SUV and car collided at the interchange. Both vehicles were southbound on Hwy. 52 when they crash, the State Patrol says.

The state crash report identifies 40-year-old Laura Mamie Williams of Rochester as the SUV driver. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to St. Mary's Hospital for further care.

65-year-old Thomas Allen Gold of Red Wing was driving the car. The State Patrol says he was not injured.

Everyone involved in the injury crashes were buckled up and alcohol was not a factor in either crash, according to the State Patrol.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance, the Rochester Police Department and Rochester Fire Department also responded to the crash.
