Incident Involving Spilled Money Slows Hwy. 14 Traffic West of Rochester, MN
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Hwy. 14 traffic near Rochester was slowed by an apparent money spill Thursday morning.
A MnDOT traffic camera stationed between Rochester and Byron showed an armored truck shoulder of eastbound Hwy. 14 near the eastern outskirts of Byron. Eastbound traffic was reduced to a single lane.
A spokesman from the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and spokeswoman from the Rochester Police Department say the initial reports indicate money had fallen out of the armored vehicle and had spilled onto the highway. The truck was surrounded by multiple vehicles including squad cars and a pick-up equipped with emergency lights.
MnDOT described the incident as debris on the roadway. No word on if any injuries were reported. The Minnesota State Patrol is leading the response to the apparent money spill.
