Windom, MN (KROC-AM News)- A fatal crash claimed the life of a southern Minnesota man and injured four others, including three children.

Two vehicles were involved in the deadly collision. The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly before 6:30 Tuesday evening. 

A Buick SUV and Kia SUV crashed into each other on Hwy. 71 about five miles south of Windom, the state crash report says. The report does not detail the nature of the collision.

Albert Lea Man Killed, 3 Boys Among Four Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Windom, MN

28-year-old Hunter Tim Allan Schwartz of Albert Lea was identified as the Kia driver. He was rushed to a hospital in nearby Windom where he died from his injuries. 

The crash report says Schwartz was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the deadly collision.

42-year-old Amy Sue Pigman was driving the Buick. Pigman had three boys, who are ages 12, 13 and 14, riding with her. 

All four of the Buick occupants suffered what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

They were also brought to a Windom hospital for further care. Alcohol was not involved in the fatal crash and the road had snow and ice on it at the time of the fatality, the State Patrol says.
