Lake City Issues Boil Water Advisory After E. Coli Found
Lake City, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Boil Water Advisory has been issued for people living in Lake City.
E. Coli Detected in Drinking Water Sample
The Lake City Public Works Department issued the advisory on Friday after E. coli bacteria was detected in a drinking water sample.
What Lake City Residents Should Do
The advisory says, as a precaution, Lake City residents should boil tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or food preparation. Bottled water can also be used for those purposes until the issue is addressed.

Lake City Working to Disinfect Water System
Lake City officials say the water department is working to disinfect the water system through chlorination. That will be followed by testing to confirm that any contamination has been eliminated.

It's unclear how long the Boil Water Advisory will be in effect. The Lake City Public Works Department says it will issue an updated statement as soon as it's safe to lift the advisory.
