MCC Bd Named
Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede has submitted his list of candidates to serve as members
of the newly-formed Mayo Civic Center Commission. The seven people were selected from a total of 21 applicants. The members are:
Marvin Mitchell, John Beltz, Dan Nelson, Jerrie Hayes, Heidi Mestad, John Eischen and Shannon Knoepke.
The list will be voted on by the City Council Monday.
The commission was formed earlier this year by the City Council at the recommendation of a consultant hired to find ways to improve the operations of the Civic Center. The commission will be directly responsible for all its operations, including the budget and personnel. The members will eventually decide how to proceed with the consultant's other recommendations. The Center had been under the control of the Park Board in the past. The new commission is expected to hold its first meeting next month.
