Minnesota Law Officer Injured in Crash
Elk River, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota law officer was injured in a multivehicle crash last night in a far northern Twin Cities suburb.
The State Patrol says 24-year-old Elk River Police Officer Grace O' Konek was driving a police SUV when she was involved in the collision with with a pickup truck and two other vehicles. Officer O' Konek and the Idaho man driving the pickup were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The State Patrol says the crash was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. when the officer attempted to cross Highway 169 at an intersection in Elk River and the police vehicle she was driving collided with the pickup as it was traveling north on the four-lane highway. The police SUV also crashed into two cars that were stopped at the intersection. A total of four people were in the two cars, but they did not suffer any injuries.
