The monthly residential real estate market report from the Minnesota Association of Realtors indicates market conditions have grown softer since last fall.

The data shows both pending sales and closings on sales of existing homes in the state were down about five-percent last month when compared to August of last year. At the same time, the statewide median sales price rose 4.3-percent to about $189,500 dollars.

In southeastern Minnesota, the number of closings rose 12.5-percent and the median sales price was up 4.2-percent from a year ago.
