Off Duty Rochester Cop Helps Snare Suspected Drug Dealer
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was wanted after skipping a recent court hearing in a drug case is facing more charges after being caught with several pounds of marijuana.
His arrest Wednesday night was the result of a sharp-eyed off-duty city cop.
The officer spotted 30-year-old Rodney Salter driving south on Highway 52 near Pine Island. He knew Salter was wanted on a warrant and contacted another officer who pulled the vehicle over when it entered Rochester. The officer searched the car after smelling marijuana and found 6 one-pound bags of pot.
Also arrested was a passenger in the car, 30-year-old Quran Bennett.
