Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A pedestrian suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Rochester.

So far limited information is available. Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson said officers responded to the scene around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Pedestrian Hospitalized With Serious Injuries After Being struck by Vehicle in Downtown Rochester, Driver in Custody
The vehicle-pedestrian collision occurred at the intersection of 3rd St. Southwest and 3rd Ave. Southwest. Grayson says the pedestrian, described as an adult male, was “seriously injured.”
He was taken to a hospital for further care. He is 30 years old and is expected to be ok, Police say. His name not been released.
On Friday morning, police announced the arrest of the driver who had been cooperating with the investigation. Grayson says officers suspected him of driving impaired.
He is identified as 35-year-old Darcy Lewis of Rochester. Grayson says Lewis was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal vehicular operation.
Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Lewis was booked into jail about an hour and 15 minutes after the vehicle-pedestrian collision.
His first court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
