
Pilot Who Died in Crash at Winona Airport Identified as 74-Year-Old Man
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities have released the name of the southeast Minnesota pilot who died in an aircraft crash at the Winona Municipal Airport Thursday night.

First responders were called to the airport, located at 106 Galewski Dr., around 8 p.m.
The Winona Fire Department says crews located the crash scene near the runway. The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures.

Pilot Who Died in Aircraft Crash at Winona Airport Identified by Winona Police Department
A news release issued by the Winona Police Department on Friday morning has identified the pilot as 74-year-old Wayne William Ledebuhr of Winona.
He was the only person involved in the fatality.
Officials say the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified of the fatal aviation crash.
Preliminary Info Released by FAA and NTSB
Preliminary information released by the FAA indicates Ledebuhr crashed during the landing sequence.
A post on X published by the NTSB described the aircraft as a “Airborne Windsports Microlight aircraft,” which is similar to a motorized hang glider.
So far the cause of the deadly crash is unknown. The federal agencies and the Winona Police Department are investigating the fatal aircraft crash.
