Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was just recently placed on probation for a gun-related burglary is now accused of a violent assault that left the victim with a broken leg.

Aggravated robbery and felony assault charges have been filed against 20-year-old Kenneth Maclin.

Witnesses identified him as the man who attacked the victim outside a Rochester apartment in July. The victim was first punched while sitting in a car. When he tried to run away, three men caught him and began punching and kicking him while he was on the ground. Witnesses say it was Maclin who began hitting the man with a bat, breaking one of his legs. The attackers then went through the victim’s pockets and fled. The car they were in was later found abandoned and police learned it had been stolen.

A few weeks later, Maclin became a suspect in a burglary of a  residence during which the occupants were threatened by a gun. Police searched Maclin’s home and found a purse that had been taken from the residence. They also found a key that was traced to the vehicle Maclin had been in the night of the earlier assault.
