Rochester Man Sentenced for 2018 Murder
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was sentenced this afternoon for a fatal shooting that occurred almost 3 years ago.
27-year-old Sao Yim was given a 15-year prison sentence with credit for the 33 months he has spent in jail since his arrest for the death of 40-year-old Ahmed Muafaq Abdulhussein Al Naddf on the night of March 12, 2018. Yim was found guilty of second-degree murder and a felony charge for illegal possession of ammunition after a court trial last fall.
He was accused of shooting and killing the victim following a confrontation with the man outside his northwest Rochester apartment. The charges in the case alleged that Yim believed Al Naddf had bumped into his parked car while pulling his vehicle into his garage.
