Grayson said the traffic stop happened around 11:15 Sunday morning in the area of 20th St. and 8th Ave. Southeast.
The police report says the driver, identified as 25-year-old Derrick Mays of Rochester, got out of the vehicle and began yelling from the middle of the road.
Officers informed Mays he was going to be cited for driving after revocation. While searching the vehicle Mays was driving, officers located a gun without a serial number, Grayson said.
Police then moved into arrest Mays and he responded by shoving an officer and physically resisted arrest as police handcuffed him, the report says.
Grayson says Mays is expected to face multiple charges. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Mays was booked on suspicion of felony ineligible firearm possession, felony obstruction and misdemeanor driving after revocation.
