Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Rochester man accused of a stabbing last year.

According to the criminal complaint filed against 32-year-old Robert Daniel Lawrence Derrick Robinson, he is accused of attacking another man with a knife at an apartment in northeast Rochester on the night of September 15. The responding police officers located a man who was bleeding and who stated he had been stabbed by Robinson.

According to the court document, the victim told police that he and his girlfriend were staying in Robinson's apartment when he kicked in a bedroom door and ordered them to leave. The victim stated that an altercation ensued and that he felt "something weird" on his left side.

The charges say the victim then described how he fled from the apartment after being cut. The Rochester police officers who responded to the assault described a knife wound on the victim that ran from his left armpit to the bottom of his ribs. He also had cuts and scrapes on his neck.

The criminal complaint says the officers spoke with Robinson, who indicated that the couple had refused to leave the apartment as he requested but he also stated that he did not know how the victim was injured.

He was charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and was scheduled to appear for a hearing in Olmsted County Court last week, but failed to show up.

The judge in the case has now issued an arrest warrant and has ordered the forfeiture of a bond previously submitted by Robinson to secure his release on $10,000 conditional bail.
