Rochester Police, Firefighters Revive Woman from Drug Overdose

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester first responders revived a woman who was suffering from a drug overdose early Monday morning.

That’s according to Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen. He said a caller reported an unconscious woman was gasping for air around 2:45 Monday morning.

The overdose call came from a residence in the 5700 block of Bandel Rd. Northwest. Upon arrival officers found the woman on a bed and administered two doses of Narcan, which led to her beginning to regain consciousness.

Rochester Firefighters also responded to the call and took over care. They administered oxygen to the woman.

She was eventually able to get up and begin walking. Moilanen said the drug overdose victim, described as a 36-year-old woman with a history of cocaine use, was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital for further evaluation.

Moilanen said officers at the scene discovered a blue M-30 pill that is frequently laced with Fentanyl. He said it’s unknown as of Monday morning if the pill at the scene tested positive for the dangerous drug.
