RPD: Man With Canceled License Could be Charged for Rochester Crash
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash on West Circle Dr. in Rochester sent a driver to St. Mary’s Hospital Friday morning.
Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen said officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of West Circle Dr. and 26th St. in northwest Rochester. Responding officers found a collision between a large truck and an SUV upon their arrival.
Moilanen said the SUV driver, described as a 34-year-old Rochester man, was pinned by the vehicle's dashboard and had to be extricated from the SUV by Rochester firefighters. The SUV driver told officers he was experiencing chest pain and had difficulty breathing.

The man was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance for further treatment. The truckdriver, described as a 45-year-old Stewartville man, was not hurt.
Moilanen said the truck was equipped with a dash camera that recorded the collision. He said the footage indicated the truck was heading south and attempted to turn onto 26th St. with a green left turn arrow when it was struck by the SUV traveling north against a red light.
Moilanen said the SUV driver had a canceled driver’s license and could face charges for running the red light and a possible citation for driving with a canceled license.
