Southern Minnesota Man Brought to St. Mary’s Following Stabbing
Madelia, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man was hospitalized and another was arrested following a stabbing in south-central Minnesota’s Watonwan County Monday afternoon.
A news release from the Madelia Police Department said officers responded to a stabbing at a mobile home at 12:45 p.m. Responding officers found the victim, described as an adult male, suffering multiple stab wounds to the arm and chest.
Authorities described some of the stab wounds as serious. The victim was brought to a hospital in Madelia before being transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester where he is described as being in stable condition.
Police say the suspect fled the area and was apprehended in neighboring Blue Earth County about three hours after the initial call. The suspect is identified as 69-year-old David Renya.
He was booked into the Watonwan County Jail and is awaiting formal charges. Investigators say the incident is not posing a danger to the public.
