Lane Splitting Used to Evade Police

Olmsted County court records say the first incident was reported on the night of July 3 when a Rochester police officer on patrol pulled up alongside Glessing at a stoplight along Broadway and recognized the motorcyclist as an individual who was involved in a prior driving complaint. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the criminal complaint says Glessing sped out of sight after lane-splitting between two vehicles.

Popped a Wheelie in Front of Officer

Rochester police reported spotting the same motorcycle speeding and weaving in and out of traffic on North Broadway on the afternoon of July 13. While an officer and Glessing were stopped at a red light at Silver Lake Drive Northeast, the criminal complaint says he appeared to make a “come on” gesture at the officer and sped away after performing a wheelie when the traffic light turned green.

Two days later, the court documents say a search warrant was executed at Glessing’s home in Byron. The criminal complaint says investigators found the motorcycle involved in the four fleeing incidents and the clothing that Glessing was wearing at the time.
