Child’s Body Found in Rubble of Home Destroyed by Fire
LUCAN, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say the remains of a child have been recovered from the scene of a farmhouse fire in the southwestern Minnesota. Another child remains missing.
Two adults and several other children were able to escape the two-story house when fire broke out near Marshall Wednesday afternoon. Fire officials say the house in the town of Lucan was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
Vesta firefighter Neil Hansen was injured when he slipped and was run over by a tanker truck. He's currently hospitalized in Mankato.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says the names and ages of the victims will be released once positive identification is made by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
