St. Paul, MN (MinnesotaNow)- Como Zoo in St. Paul was evacuated due to a threat made on its grounds on Saturday.

A post published on the zoo’s Facebook page says law enforcement responded to search the grounds. 

No threat was found and the property was given the all clear.

Como Zoo in St. Paul Evacuated After Receiving Bomb Threat Saturday

A zoo spokesperson told KSTP-TV that they received a report of a bomb being placed on the zoo’s grounds.

Once staff learned of the threat they immediately called 911, the zoo's social media post says. 

All guests and non essential staff were evacuated from the grounds, zoo officials say. Animals were put in their cages while law enforcement conducted what was described as a “thorough search” of the zoo. 

Despite nothing being found, the zoo closed for the remainder of the day on Saturday. 

Normal Operations Set to Resume Sunday at Como Zoo

“As always, we take every report seriously and will continue to prioritize the safety of our visitors, staff, volunteers, and animals,” the Facebook post says.

Como Zoo is set to resume regular operations on Sunday.
